Daily Prayer


Mary Mother of Jesus and my Mother

Let us pray:


Dear Jesus,

You have a special Mum,

Her name is Mary.

She is my mum too.

She cares for me and is always next to me.

I love you Mary,

I love you Jesus.

Amen!

Religious Education

Learning Intention

We are learning that Jesus is the Son of God and son of Mary


Success Criteria

I will know I am successful when I:


  • can identify Mary as Jesus' mother

  • can identify that I have a special connection to Mary

  • can pray the Hail Mary

Outcomes

ES1 Jesus- demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of Jesus as the incarnate Son of God who loves us and invites us to grow in relationship with him.

Mary is a special person because she is the Mother of Jesus. She is like a mother to us too. We can always ask Mary to pray for us.

Activity

  1. Learn to pray the Hail Mary a special prayer to Mary

  2. Draw a flower or a bunch of flowers for Mary

  3. Colour them in.

  4. You might like to collect some petals and leaves from outside and glue them on as decorations

Understanding with the Text

  • Open the Google slides (on the right) and follow the written and audio prompts as you listen to the story and think about the text.

  • Read beautiful stories every day for enjoyment.


NB. for Parents - Encourage your child to draw, talk and 'write' every day. Beginning writing might look like a picture, scribbly marks, single letters or even some words including their own name. Accept all attempts at writing and encourage your child to tell you about their pictures and writing.
