  • Open the Google slides (on the right) and follow the written and audio prompts as you listen to the story and think about the text.

  • Complete independent reading as outlined on the slides.

Activity too hard?

  • When the present gets delivered, the expression on Dustin's face gives us a clue as to how he is feeling. Can you use that clue to make an inference about how he is feeling in that moment?

  • Can you make some inferences about the main character in the book that you are currently reading?

The canteen is providing garlic bread for the whole class. Each person will get ⅓ of a loaf.


How many people might be in the class and how much garlic bread should be ordered?

  • What if each person got half a loaf? How many loaves would we need if there were 20 people? What if there were 30 people?


Activity too easy?

  • What if each person gets ¾ of a loaf?
