Activity
Engaging with the Text - Mr McGee
Open the Google slides (on the right) and follow the written and audio prompts as you listen to the story and think about the text.
Read beautiful stories every day for enjoyment.
NB. for Parents - Encourage your child to draw, talk and 'write' every day. Beginning writing might look like a picture, scribbly marks, single letters or even some words including their own name. Accept all attempts at writing and encourage your child to tell you about their pictures and writing.
Questions to support my thinking
Activity too easy?
Play "I Spy" - adult or older child says "I spy something that rhymes with _____" Child looks for object and says the rhyming word.
Activity too easy?
Look for multiple rhyming words with the same end sound. Play "Ping-Pong". Adult says a rhyming word, then the child, then the adult and so on.

Jelly Beans
Look at the picture. There are 20 jelly beans.
Imagine you are sharing these jelly beans with some friends equally.
How many friends are there and how many jellybeans do they each get?
Find many ways to share the jelly beans equally so that each person gets the same amount.
You could use some small objects and pretend that they are jelly beans to help you.

What if there were two friends? How many jellybeans would they get each?

What if there were 40 jellybeans to share equally?
