We are learning about how authors sequence events in texts.

  • think about when events are happening in the text.

  • locate words that indicate time or sequence.

Look at the picture of the pieces of chocolate.


On Monday I ate one piece of chocolate.

If I eat two more pieces each day, how many pieces will I eat on Friday?

How many pieces will I eat on Sunday?

Activity too hard?

  • Can you draw the chocolate eaten on Wednesday and add one more to the top and one more to the bottom? How many pieces are there now.


Activity too easy?

  • Your family is now helping you eat the chocolate.

  • How many pieces will you all eat on the 10th day? The 15th day? The 30th day?

  • Can you record your thinking in a table?
