  1. Watch the video Prayer is...

  2. Make a book for someone in preschool to show the different ways to pray. Start a new page for each way.

  3. Put a star on the page that shows your favourite way to pray. Explain to someone in your home why that is your favourite way to pray

Engaging with the Text - Grandpa and Thomas by Pamela Allen

  • Open the Google slides (on the right) and follow the written and audio prompts as you listen to the story and think about the text.

  • Read beautiful stories every day for enjoyment.


NB. for Parents - Encourage your child to draw, talk and 'write' every day. Beginning writing might look like a picture, scribbly marks, single letters or even some words including their own name. Accept all attempts at writing and encourage your child to tell you about their pictures and writing.


Questions to support my thinking


Activity too hard?

  • Draw and talk about a time that you spent with your grandparents or another family member.


Activity too easy?

  • Talk about connections to another story you have read about the beach or family. "This books reminds me of another book ....." OR add some writing to your your connections drawing.

The Teddy Bears’ Picnic


Two teddy bears went on a picnic. Papa Bear, who made the lunch, forgot to cut up the food equally!


How could Papa Bear cut this sandwich so that the two bears can share it equally?

Find more than one way to cut the sandwich.

Draw all of the different ways.


How can you check if the pieces are equal in size?

Explain what you did.

Activity too hard?

  • Get some different sized pieces of paper and fold them or cut them to find half. Draw what you found out.


Activity too easy?

  • What if there were two sandwiches to share equally with four bears? How would you cut the sandwiches and share them? Find more than one way.
