S3: demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of prayer as a means of recognising the centrality of God in our lives and as being expressed in special ways during liturgical feasts and seasons.

You will need

  • Watch the two Youtube clips:

clip 1 and clip2



  • Using the Youtube clip and Scripture passage identify the qualities you hear about the person of Mary. (qualities are unique features)


  • Write a letter to Mary telling her why you think she was faithful to God.

  • Read the Scripture Passage Luke 1:26-3

  • Create a profile about Mary.



Activity too easy?

  • Examine the words of the Angelus prayer, how does this prayer reflect the person of Mary?

Learning Intention

We are learning about how authors create effective descriptions by using adjectives and adjectival phrases to build interesting noun groups.

Success Criteria

I will know I am successful when I:

  • recognise and use adjectives to build simple noun groups which help create sensory images for the reader.

  • recognise and use adjectival phrases and clauses to build extended noun groups which add extra information to a noun group.

and shapes.

  • can follow a set of instructions to plot compass points.

  • justify my thinking.

  • MA3-15MG: manipulates, classifies and draws two-dimensional shapes, including equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles, and describes their properties.

  • MA3-17MG: locates and describes position on maps using a grid-reference system.

  • MA3-16MG: measures and constructs angles, and applies angle relationships to find unknown angles.

WORKING OUT ANGLES

  • The quadrilateral ABCD is a trapezium.

  • B is directly North East of A.

  • C is due South of B.

  • D is directly South West of C.

  • A is due West of D.

  • Give three different possibilities. In each case, write the coordinates of A, B, C, and D.

  • Draw a square ABCD with A North of B, and C West of B

  • What do the compass points and a circle have in common? How can this help you?


Activity too easy?

  • Create instructions for a rectangle that has no horizontal lines.
