Activity

Sit Spots

Imagine your teachers are working out sit spots for the grade when you gather together.

Each student needs a spot, and it will need to be arranged in an array if possible.

There are 96 children in the grade.

Use your multiplication facts to plan ALL the ways the teachers could arrange the spots into arrays.

Write the matching multiplication and division facts.

Questions to support my thinking

Activity too hard?

  • What if there were 6 spots in each row?

Activity too easy?

  • If 96 makes an array, which numbers do not make arrays? How do you know?
