Devise a plan showing how you may be able to carry out a work of mercy in the next few days.

Explain how it connects to the works of mercy and to the Beatitudes

Describe the impact carrying out this action may have on yourself and the person/people experiencing it

  • Can you think of a time when you have seen a corporal work of mercy carried out. What do you remember about it? How did it make you feel?


Activity too easy?

  • Devise a plan to carry out each of the Works of Mercy over the next two weeks

Learning Intention

We are learning to compose imaginative texts eg. poetry that reflect our understanding of the world.


Success Criteria

I will know I am successful when I compose a simple poem based on the structure of the poems shared which:


  • expresses my ideas and feelings using interesting language.

  • is arranged in lines or groups of lines of different lengths.

  • may use patterns of repetition, rhyme or rhythm or figurative language.

  • sounds effective when it is read aloud.

  • Use some of the words provided for you in the word bank or write an Acrostic Poem.


Activity too easy?

  • Can you write more poems to fit the pattern?

  • Write a poem in a different poetic form eg. Haiku or rhyming verse - preferably not an Acrostic Poem.

We are learning about the properties of triangles and the sum of their angles.

Activity

The total of the size of the three angles in a triangle is always 1800.

What might be the size of the angles in:


a) an isosceles triangle with the third angle smaller than the other two?

b) an isosceles triangle with the third angle bigger than the other two?

c) an isosceles triangle and the third angle a right angle?


Sketch what those triangles might look like.

Activity too hard?

  • Three numbers add to be 1800. Two of those numbers are the same. What might be the three numbers?


Activity too easy?

  • Draw a triangle where the sizes of the angles are consecutive multiples of 5.
