Activity

Main Task

Design two 6-sided dice so that the probability of rolling a total of 6 is 0.5.

Consolidating Task

Use a net of a cube to make the favourite pair of dice you have designed. Write an explanation, including a sample space, to explain why your dice will have a probability of 0.5 of rolling a total of 6.

Questions to support my thinking

Activity too hard?

Give sets of integers that will add together to make 6?

Questions to support my thinking

Activity too easy?

  • Can you create it so that you have 2 completely different sets of dice? If so, what would be those combinations (Give 2 possible solutions).
